Totem’s sculptural curves are surprising and its

graphic silhouette reveals the designer’s talent for

illustration, transcending its function to become a

decorative object.

The apparently slender and delicate structure is, in

fact, strong and sturdy. Its wide base seems to stabi-

lize a fragile balance of straight lines and a circle. The

central ring, as well as providing a pleasing silhouette,

serves as a footrest for the stool. Reduced to the

essentials, the seat remains comfortable without brea-

king the illusion of a two-dimensional drawing.
